The Flash #5 - Cover

Finally, the finale of Mob Rule! Manuel’s clones try to survive, there’s a breakout at Iron Heights, and chaos in Central City! Thankfully Flash is here to save the day but he better work fast! After a moment with Iris West, we see Dr. Elias working to help Mob Rule. Flash speeds to help Manuel, but instead meets his clones. The generator Manuel is strapped to reaches critical mass. Just before it explodes, Flash manages to contain the blast, sending it into the atmosphere. Mob Rule finally falls. After the action ends, Barry returns to the scene of the crime to show that he’s alive and well. Later, Elias reveals that Flash’s actions could doom the planet. The Speed Force has to be destroyed!

The Flash #5 - Racing to stop a generator

This was a great end to a surprising storyline. I think it’s great that enough was left open for future storylines, that’s the way it should be. There’s enough drama going on to get into the characters. Balance that with some fun super heroics to make Flash a great read. Manapul’s art is enough to keep me coming back. As I’ve said before, the use of panels make the comic very unique. It took me a while to get used to it but I’m glad I did. Next up, Captain Cold!
